  • On-site
    • Echt, Limburg, Netherlands

  • Direct support, NEXT

Improve the manufacturability of advanced microelectronics. Make a real impact on the production floor and grow your career at Neways NEXT.

Job description

Neways NEXT is the business unit of Neways Electronics where innovation, complex high-tech electronics, and mission-critical assemblies come together. Across our locations in Son and Breugel and Echt, more than 200 specialists develop and manufacture advanced electronic modules and systems for leading customers in the semiconductor, defence, and mobility industries, helping shape the technologies of tomorrow. Our Echt site specialises in advanced microelectronics.

At our Echt location, communication lines are short and you will be given a high level of responsibility, with plenty of opportunities to improve both our processes and your own expertise. Do you want to use your technical knowledge to make the production of complex PCBAs and microelectronics smarter, more efficient, and more reliable? Then the role of Manufacturing Engineer could be the right next step for you.

This is how you make impact

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you are the technical link between product development and production. You ensure that our complex electronic products can be manufactured in a reliable, efficient, and repeatable way. You define optimal manufacturing methods, develop tooling, and translate technical product information into clear and practical work instructions.

You also play an important role in New Product Introduction (NPI). You guide new products into production, assess manufacturability, and ensure that processes, tooling, and work instructions are set up correctly from the start. At the same time, you continuously identify opportunities to improve quality, output, and lead times.

A significant part of your work takes place on the production floor in our high-tech cleanroom. You work closely with operators and support them with technical questions related to products and processes. You are visible on the shop floor, identify bottlenecks, and translate them into practical solutions and sustainable improvements.

You work closely with colleagues from Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Production, Quality, and other technical disciplines. You also support Test Engineering in maintaining and improving test systems and the related work instructions.

In this role, you will be given a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. You take ownership of your own activities and see the impact of your improvements directly reflected in our production processes.

This is what we offer you

You will join a challenging role within a dynamic and professional high-tech manufacturing environment where your ideas, initiative, and technical expertise are genuinely valued.

You will work in a driven and collaborative environment with plenty of room for personal responsibility, professional development, and continuous process improvement. Thanks to the compact organisation at our Echt site, communication lines are short and you will quickly see the results of the improvements you initiate.

In addition, we offer:

  • A competitive salary based on your knowledge and experience;

  • 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days;

  • The opportunity to work in an innovative high-tech environment with plenty of room for personal development;

  • Training and development opportunities to further enhance your knowledge and skills;

  • Flexible working hours;

  • An attractive bicycle plan;

  • A competitive pension scheme, holiday allowance, and travel reimbursement.

This is what you bring to our team

You are technically curious, hands-on, and enjoy working close to production. You know how to gather the right information, analyse technical challenges, and translate them into solutions that can be applied directly on the production floor.

You communicate easily with operators, engineers, and other colleagues and know how to engage people when changes are needed. You work independently and in a structured way, take initiative, and maintain an overview when several technical challenges arise at the same time.

Additionally, you bring:

  • An MBO level 3 or 4 diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable technical discipline;

  • At least three years of relevant experience in a technical manufacturing environment;

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and an affinity with process optimisation;

  • Affinity with electronics, PCBs, PCBAs, and electronic components;

  • Experience with or an interest in New Product Introduction and manufacturability;

  • A practical and solution-oriented mindset;

  • Willingness to spend a significant part of your working day in a cleanroom environment;

  • A proactive, independent, and structured way of working;

  • Good communication skills in both Dutch and English;

  • The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

 Your team

Your home base will be our Echt location, where you work in a compact and collaborative high-tech manufacturing environment. You work closely with operators and collaborate daily with colleagues from Production, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, and Quality.

You are also part of the wider technical organisation of Neways NEXT. Thanks to the close cooperation between our Echt and Son locations, you can exchange knowledge with fellow engineers and benefit from the broad technical expertise available across Neways.

Job requirements

Your daily responsibilities include

  • Preparing, setting up, and continuously improving efficient and stable manufacturing processes;

  • Developing clear and practical work instructions based on technical drawings, specifications, and product documentation;

  • Supporting New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensuring manufacturability is effectively embedded within the production environment;

  • Developing and optimising manufacturing methods, tooling, and production aids;

  • Working closely with operators to continuously improve work instructions and production processes;

  • Maintaining and improving test systems and related work instructions together with Test Engineering;

  • Identifying and implementing improvement opportunities aimed at higher efficiency, improved quality, increased output, and shorter lead times;

  • Supporting Production colleagues with technical questions related to manufacturability, production times, tooling, and work instructions;

  • Identifying recurring production issues and translating them into sustainable improvements.
