Job description

The Senior Accountant is a key finance professional within Neways Advanced Applications, responsible for safeguarding accounting quality, tax compliance, and internal control robustness. The role acts as the content owner and thought leader on complex accounting and compliance topics, bridging local operations, group requirements, and external stakeholders.

Job requirements

 

  1. Accounting & Financial Reporting

·       Act as primary subject matter expert for accounting topics within NAA, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Neways Group accounting policies.

·       Coordinate the implementation and consistent application of the Neways Accounting Manual across NAA and relevant operating companies.

·       Review and challenge complex accounting positions, including:

o   Revenue recognition and cut-off

o   Inventory valuation, obsolescence, and ownership structures

o   Provisions, accruals, and judgment-heavy estimates

·       Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by providing expert guidance on complex entries and disclosures.

 

2. External Audit & Regulatory Interface

·       Serve as the primary contact point for the external auditor, coordinating audit planning, execution, and follow-up.

·       Prepare, review, and defend accounting positions, position papers, and technical memos in response to audit findings and management letter points.

·       Proactively identify audit risks and lead remediation actions.

·       Act as key counterpart in discussions related to governance, risk management, and financial control

 

3. Tax & Compliance

  • Oversee and coordinate corporate income tax, VAT, and transfer pricing implications at NAA level, in alignment with Group Tax.

  • Review tax positions and support the preparation of tax filings, ensuring consistency between statutory, fiscal, and management reporting.

  • Identify and manage tax risks related to:

    • Cross-border transactions

    • Outsourcing and contract manufacturing structures

    • Intercompany pricing

  • Act as a knowledgeable interface with tax advisors and authorities where required.

·       Ensure that manufacturing and supply chain changes are correctly reflected in financial reporting and internal controls.

 

4. Internal Control & Risk Management

  • Take a leading role in building and reinforcing the internal control framework within NAA, aligned with Neways Group standards.

  • Identify control gaps and design pragmatic, scalable controls across financial and operational processes.

  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation quality, control effectiveness, and timely remediation.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of risk management and compliance awareness across the organization.

 

5. Business Partnering & Advisory

  • Act as a sparring partner for the NAA CEO and management team on complex accounting, tax, and compliance topics.

  • Translate technical accounting implications into clear business insights and decision-support.

  • Support strategic initiatives (e.g. new business models, customer contracts, restructuring, system changes) by assessing financial and compliance impacts early on.
