As Team Lead Engineering, you provide direction to a team of engineers and maintenance professionals while remaining actively involved in the technical content yourself. You coach and develop team members, encourage ownership and collaboration, and ensure the right priorities are set. Depending on your expertise, you also make an active technical contribution within a specific engineering domain.

You are responsible for achieving objectives related to quality, delivery reliability, safety, and productivity. You monitor the quality, progress, and technical feasibility of projects, processes, and activities within the team. You ensure effective collaboration between Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other departments and act as a technical point of contact and sparring partner for colleagues and internal stakeholders.

Alongside day-to-day leadership, you also focus on long-term improvement. You identify opportunities, initiate and lead improvement projects, and contribute to the further professionalisation of the Engineering organisation. You create an environment in which people can develop, take ownership, and work together to achieve the best possible results.

You report directly to the Manager Engineering & QESH.

This is what you bring to the team

You are a coaching and decisive professional who knows how to engage people while having the technical credibility to provide direction on engineering topics. You communicate clearly, create structure, and know how to set priorities. You encourage collaboration and ownership and have a clear vision of both team development and organisational growth.

Additionally, you bring:

• A Bachelor's degree (HBO), preferably in a technical discipline;

• At least two years of experience coaching, guiding, or leading colleagues and the ambition to further develop as a leader;

• Experience within electronics, high-tech manufacturing, EMS, or a similarly complex technical production environment;

• Strong technical affinity; knowledge of electronics is a strong advantage;

• Experience coordinating technical activities, projects, and improvement initiatives;

• Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction;

• A proactive, structured, and results-oriented way of working;

• Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.

Your team

You lead colleagues within Test Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Maintenance. Together, your team forms an important link between technology and operations. You are responsible for the performance and development of the team and create the conditions in which people can use and further develop their expertise.

Your daily responsibilities include

• Leading, coaching, and developing engineers and maintenance professionals while encouraging ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement;

• Coordinating capacity, workload, priorities, and resources within the team;

• Leads and coordinates projects that are executed within the Engineering team. Corporate-wide projects are led by the Manager Engineering & QESH;

• Remaining hands-on within your own specialist field and contributing to technical challenges, projects, and improvement initiatives;

• Monitoring the quality, progress, and technical feasibility of engineering activities and projects;

• Achieving and monitoring operational objectives related to quality, delivery reliability, safety, and productivity;

• Promoting effective collaboration between Engineering, Operations, Quality, and other disciplines;

• Identifying, initiating, leading, and implementing process and organisational improvements;

• Ensuring compliance with procedures, guidelines, safety requirements, and quality standards;

• Taking responsibility for performance cycles, development plans, and the professional growth of team members;

• Intervening or escalating when quality, safety, planning, or technical feasibility is at risk.
