Boost PCBA performance by reducing defects, improving processes, and working with Production to secure stable, high-quality manufacturing flows.
Job description
Neways Advanced Applications in Son is our Center of Excellence for high-level assemblies serving the semiconductor and connectivity industries. Do you want to contribute to world-class quality in a high-tech manufacturing environment and help shape the technologies of tomorrow? Explore Neways in life-changing tech together.
This is how you make impact
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you play a key role in improving quality and operational performance across our PCBA production environment. You are visible on the factory floor, support Production with quality-related challenges, and ensure deviations are addressed quickly and structurally.
Your focus goes beyond solving problems: you help prevent them. Through data analysis, preventive quality methods, and structured problem solving, you reduce internal and external defects, improve manufacturing processes, and contribute to stable production flows and strong first-time-right performance.
You work closely with colleagues across Production, Process Engineering, Supplier Quality, Customer Quality Engineering, Design Quality, and Account Engineering. Together, you strengthen process robustness, product reliability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
This is what we offer you
We offer a challenging role in a dynamic, international, and technology-driven manufacturing environment where quality directly contributes to operational performance and customer satisfaction. You will have the freedom and responsibility to take ownership and deliver visible improvements on the factory floor.
You will work with driven colleagues in an environment where knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and professional development are key.
In addition, we offer:
A competitive salary based on your knowledge and experience;
27 vacation days and 13 ADV days;
Flexible start and end times within our standard working hours;
Training and development opportunities, including access to our e-learning platform;
An attractive bicycle plan;
A solid pension scheme, holiday allowance, and travel reimbursement.
This is what you bring to our team
You bring a strong technical foundation, a structured mindset, and a drive to improve quality in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You combine analytical skills with a hands-on approach and know how to engage colleagues through expertise and collaboration.
A completed technical MBO or HBO qualification, for example in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering;
Knowledge of PCBA processes, such as solder paste printing, pick & place, reflow, wave soldering, AOI, and ICT/FCT;
Experience with quality methods and tools such as SPC, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, and 8D;
Knowledge of IPC standards; IPC-A-610 certification is an advantage;
An analytical, data-driven mindset and proficiency in Excel, Minitab, or similar tools;
Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams;
Experience in high-mix/low-volume, automotive, medical, or a comparable PCBA manufacturing environment is an advantage;
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher is an advantage;
Experience with reliability testing, such as HALT, HASS, and thermal cycling, is an advantage;
Knowledge of advanced inspection technologies, such as 3D AOI/SPI and AXI, is an advantage;
A detail-oriented, structured, and solution-focused way of working, with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction;
The ability to manage multiple priorities and a willingness to be visibly present on the factory floor.
Job requirements
Your daily responsibilities include
Acting as the primary quality contact for Production and providing hands-on support on the factory floor;
Leading or supporting escalations and in-depth root cause investigations for high-impact quality issues;
Performing First Article and First Inspection analyses on prototypes and pilot builds;
Managing material complaints and quality deviations, including preparing and leading 8D reports;
Coordinating containment actions, stock checks, and rework activities with Production and Engineering;
Driving and maintaining preventive quality controls, including Control Plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, monitoring, and process parameter reviews;
Leading and participating in multidisciplinary improvement teams and acting as 8D leader for complex problems;
Tracking and analysing Manufacturing Quality KPIs, such as yield, FPY, scrap, and PPM;
Initiating PDCA-based improvement projects and ensuring effective incoming and outgoing inspection controls;

Supporting QMS improvements and performing internal audits in line with relevant ISO standards;
